D-E Fights Hunger, Spring Carnival on April 19

Did you know that for only $4.50 you can send a deserving, needy child home with a weekend's worth of healthy snacks?

D-E Student Government and the D-E Parents' Association invite everyone in our School community including families with children of all ages, faculty/staff, alumni, and friends, to join in a  rewarding and fun-filled day of service.  "D-E Fights Hunger" and the Spring Carnival 2015 will take place on Sunday, April 19 for a community service project organized in partnership with and behalf of the Center for Food Action (CFA).  D-E families will have the opportunity to assemble snack packs for CFA’s Weekend Snack Pack Program.  Many children who receive free or reduced-price school meals are left without adequate nutrition on weekends and holiday breaks. CFA’s Weekend Snack Pack Program is designed to fill this gap by providing healthy, kid-friendly, and easy to prepare snack foods to children at risk of weekend hunger.  Upper School (US) students can receive community service hours for participating in this worthwhile effort.

The event schedule is as follows:

> From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM all in our D-E School community are invited to join in "D-E Fights Hunger" and help assembly snack packs in Modell's Sports Complex. * Set-up help needed beginning at 8:30 AM.  See "how to help" below for details.

>  From 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, all ages are invited to enjoy the Spring Carnival 2015, on Library Circle.  Food, activities and fun for all ages (see below for details)!  Activities to include Art Battle 2015; click here for a look back at Art Battle 2014.
