The 2009-’10 D-E Annual Fund Campaign has officially begun.

The Fund supports the operating budget of the school, providing immediate benefits to a variety of programs, including academics, the arts, faculty development, college counseling, advising, the library, athletics, and technology. Because tuition covers only 85 percent of the annual cost of educating a Dwight-Englewood student, the school relies heavily on gifts to the D-E Annual Fund and to endowment to make up the difference.

A Faculty Dedicated to Seeking Excellence

The faculty and staff of Dwight-Englewood act as trusted guides, athletic coaches, advisers who have both the expertise and experience to forge permanent relationships with their students. They also happen to be exceptionally accomplished in their discipline and profession. Within our Middle School alone, three faculty members were recently admitted into the prestigious Klingenstein Center for Educational Leadership. D-E faculty members publish books, perform in internationally-renowned concert halls, win national teaching awards, coach their teams to state and regional competitions, and realize new academic discoveries. Annual Fund dollars provide the extra support that makes so much of this possible for our faculty and staff and for our students.

The Environment to Pursue Your Passion

To create a true community of learners, we ask every D-E student to expand his or her horizons beyond the academic program. The Fund helps enrich our program of offerings so that the School can help support the education of the whole child and students have the opportunity to educate the whole mind. Such additional programming rounds-out the student experience while also helping to foster important character development. Intramural and interscholastic athletics, student government, fine and performing arts, an array of diverse publications and community-service learning are some of the examples of programming that broaden the D-E experience. At Dwight-Englewood, we are constantly developing opportunities for our community to celebrate the vitality of who we are.  This could not happen without support of the D-E Annual Fund.

Our 40+ acre campus features spaces for learning that reflect both the collaborative and cooperative model of our community. Combining the best of traditional and contemporary architecture with 21st Century technology, we provide students a stimulating setting for their pursuits. The recently-unveiled student lounge in the Imperatore Library and the Harkness Table classrooms in the Upper School provide just two examples of how Annual Fund dollars help the School respond to the challenge of keeping learning relevant, allowing students to collaborate and dream with their contemporaries and with our faculty. The Fund supports the innovation in learning necessary to develop tomorrow’s leaders.
