Oh So Close, Girls' Tennis Lose Close Match To Elisabeth Morrow

The girls tennis team had an exciting match against Elisabeth Morrow yesterday, Tuesday, October 9. Our doubles teams came out strong and both teams had convincing wins. Eighth graders Emily Katz and Caroline Shevack won 8-4 at first doubles and seventh grade duo, Emma Lee and Emma Plowe, won 8-1. Hooray for Emma Plowe on her first official start (and victory!).

Seventh grader Janice Chen and eighth grader Michelle Matiash both played some beautiful points -- highlighted by long baseline rallies -- but both girls lost at first and second singles (8-1 and 8-4, respectively). Eighth grader Leah Jacobson fought until the absolute last point. In an incredible match, she lost in a tiebreaker (8-7, 8-6).
