The MS girls basketball team lost a hard fought battle to a very physical and strong Bergenfield team. The bulldogs tried at times to use their speed to push Bergenfield, and although this worked at times, rebounding was very difficult. Bergenfield crashed hard to the boards and their aggressiveness was difficult to fend off. The bulldogs tried hard, however, and played tough until the final whistle. It was an excellent team effort overall as the team refused to be pushed around, but in the end Bergenfield's strength and size allowed them to edge us out by a score of 30-20. Great leadership by Emily Katz, and another breakout game for 6th grader Jenna Glagano. Lilly Arang also played very strong. Inside, Ryan Rodgers and Victoria Kong played their hearts out battling for rebounds and doing their best to contain their size on defense. Both girls played excellent games despite minor injuries. Although not a victory, this gutsy performance demonstrated our teams' tremendous ability to come together and get the most out of each other.
