D-E Student Computer Program

Middle School Students Program: 2024-2025

Our Middle School (MS) Program leverages the simplicity, reliability, and speed of iPad devices to deliver content to students efficiently and to help students organize themselves, to communicate and collaborate effectively with each other and with their teachers.

All D-E MS students are required to purchase an iPad through the school. They will use it in most of their MS classes.

The cost of this device is $700 and will be automatically billed to your Smart Tuition account. Details on the device specifications and what is included in the price can be found here.

With their new iPads, students will receive setup instructions and links to instructional videos that illustrate how to navigate the Dwight-Englewood computer system.

iPads should be available for pickup at the library circulation desk on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning the week of August 5th. Stay tuned for more details about iPad pickup in the coming weeks.

Upper School Students Program: 2024-2025

All Upper School students must have a functioning, laptop computer capable of operating on our school's network and running the software required by our courses.

All D-E US students are required to have a laptop computer that meets our minimum specifications. Families may purchase this computer through the school or purchase it on their own. Students who purchase their computer through the school can have any hardware repairs taken care of on campus and will have access to a pool of loaner computers at no extra charge. Students who bring their own computer can receive support for software-related issues on campus, but if the computer hardware breaks, families will have to get those repairs done outside of school.

The cost of a school-purchased computer is $1,600 and will be billed through your Smart Tuition account. This year's school laptop model will be a 13" MacBook Air with 4 years of AppleCare+ coverage. The AppleCare+ warranty includes two incidents of accidental damage coverage.

Computers will be available for pickup at the library circulation desk on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning the week of August 5th. Stay tuned for more details about computer pickup. With their new computers, students will receive setup instructions and links to instructional videos that illustrate how to navigate the Dwight-Englewood computer system.

Please use this form to indicate whether your student will be purchasing a computer through the school or bringing his or her own computer.

You must complete this order form by Thursday, June 20 to be sure that it will arrive in time. For families that are supplying their own computer, please complete the form anyway so that we know your plans. Instructional videos will be emailed to BYO students in August.
